Mesotherapy · Richmond Hill

Mesotherapy in Richmond Hill. Deep hydration
and skin renewal from within.

Mesotherapy delivers active ingredients directly into the dermis, bypassing the skin barrier entirely. The result is a quality of hydration and glow that your moisturiser, however expensive, cannot replicate. The delivery method is fundamentally different. Which is also a polite way of saying that the moisturiser was never going to get there on its own.

What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a technique that uses fine needle microinjections to deliver a blend of active ingredients directly into the dermis, the layer of skin just beneath the surface. By bypassing the skin barrier entirely, mesotherapy achieves a depth and concentration of active ingredient delivery that topical products cannot match regardless of their formulation.

The technique was developed in France in the 1950s and has been refined significantly since. Modern medical mesotherapy uses clinically validated formulations with well-characterised ingredient profiles, a significant departure from the poorly standardised preparations that gave mesotherapy a mixed reputation in earlier decades.

At Skin Trek, we use two products for mesotherapy: Redensity I and NCFT. Both are manufactured to pharmaceutical standards and have established clinical profiles. They can be used independently or in combination depending on the patient's skin type and goals.

"Mesotherapy is not a treatment that dramatically changes the face. It improves the quality of what is already there. Patients consistently say their skin looks healthier, more luminous, more alive. Nobody says they look like a different person. That is, in our view, entirely the point."

Redensity I — what it is and what it does

Redensity I is a skin quality injectable manufactured by Teoxane, a Swiss company known primarily for its Teosyal filler range. It is a non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid formulation combined with a complex of amino acids, antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins specifically chosen to support dermal metabolism and skin quality.

The non-crosslinked HA in Redensity I is different from the HA in dermal fillers. Crosslinked HA (as found in fillers) is structurally modified to resist degradation and maintain volume. Non-crosslinked HA degrades quickly but acts as a humectant and hydration reservoir while present, and supports the function of hyaluronic acid-producing cells in the dermis. It does not add volume and does not produce the structural effects of a filler.

The additional biorevitalising complex in Redensity I supports cellular regeneration, antioxidant protection against environmental damage, and the overall metabolic health of the dermis. Together, these components produce an improvement in skin luminosity, texture, and hydration that is noticeable and builds over a course of treatments.

Redensity I is particularly well suited for patients whose primary concern is skin quality, brightness, and hydration rather than volume or structural changes. It is a good entry-level injectable treatment for patients in their late 20s and 30s who are not yet candidates for biostimulators or fillers but want to invest in their skin proactively.

NCFT — what it is and what it does

NCFT (Non-Crosslinked Filler with Taurine) is a mesotherapy formulation that combines non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid with taurine, an amino acid with well-documented antioxidant and cytoprotective properties. Taurine supports cellular membrane integrity, protects against oxidative stress, and has been shown in research to support the function of dermal fibroblasts.

NCFT works alongside the hydration and biorevitalising effects of Redensity I by adding a layer of cellular protection and fibroblast support. When used in combination, the two products complement each other: Redensity I provides the nutrient complex and HA hydration, while NCFT adds taurine-mediated cellular protection and additional fibroblast stimulation.

The combination protocol (Redensity I 3ml plus NCFT 1 vial) is available at Skin Trek at a reduced combined price and represents a more comprehensive skin quality treatment than either product alone.

What mesotherapy treats

Dull or tired-looking skin

One of the most consistent results of mesotherapy is an improvement in skin luminosity. Patients who describe their skin as looking flat, tired, or lacking glow typically notice a significant improvement within two to three weeks of their first treatment. This is the most immediate and reliable outcome of mesotherapy.

Dehydrated skin

Dehydration and dryness are not the same thing, though they are often confused. Dehydration is a lack of water in the skin. It can affect oily skin types as much as dry ones. Mesotherapy with HA-based formulations addresses intradermal dehydration directly in a way that topical moisturisers cannot.

Fine surface lines

Fine lines caused by dehydration and loss of dermal hydration respond well to mesotherapy. These are different from the dynamic lines addressed by neurotoxins or the structural lines addressed by fillers. Mesotherapy improves the quality of the skin surface itself, which softens this category of lines effectively.

Skin texture and tone irregularities

Uneven texture, mild pigmentation, and general tone irregularities improve with a course of mesotherapy treatments as the dermal environment becomes better hydrated and metabolically supported. This is a gradual improvement that builds over multiple sessions.

Neck and décolletage

These areas are often undertreated because they are outside the primary focus of most aesthetic clinics. Mesotherapy is well suited to the neck and chest where the skin is thinner and more delicate, and where the improvement in skin quality from intradermal hydration is particularly visible.

What to expect at Skin Trek

Mesotherapy is one of the more straightforward treatments we offer in terms of patient experience. A topical anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area and left for 20 to 30 minutes. The product is then delivered using a series of small microinjections across the treatment zone. The whole process takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on the area treated.

Post-treatment, small injection marks and mild redness are normal and typically resolve within a few hours. Mild swelling may persist for 24 to 48 hours. Most patients are comfortable returning to normal activities the same day.

A course of three to four treatments spaced two to four weeks apart is the standard recommendation for meaningful results. A single treatment produces a noticeable but temporary improvement in hydration and glow. With a full course, the improvements in skin quality are more substantial and longer lasting.

Frequently asked questions

How is mesotherapy different from skinboosters?

The terms are sometimes used interchangeably, which creates confusion. Skinboosters typically refers specifically to lightly crosslinked HA products like Restylane Skinbooster or Juvederm Volite, which are injected at a deeper level and provide a longer-lasting hydration effect with some mild volumising. Mesotherapy refers to the broader technique of intradermal microinjection and can include non-crosslinked HA products, vitamin and mineral complexes, and other actives. Redensity I and NCFT are mesotherapy products. They do not add volume and are not the same as skinbooster products.

How many sessions do I need?

A course of three to four sessions spaced two to four weeks apart is the standard recommendation. Many patients then continue with a maintenance session every two to three months. A single session produces a temporary but noticeable improvement and is a reasonable way to assess how your skin responds before committing to a full course.

Is there any downtime?

Minimal. Small injection marks and mild redness resolve within hours. Mild swelling is possible for 24 to 48 hours. Most patients return to their day immediately. We suggest avoiding strenuous exercise and sun exposure for 24 hours. The sun advice applies every day, really, but we pick our moments.

Can mesotherapy be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Mesotherapy pairs well with neurotoxins, biostimulators, and PRP. It is often used as a preparatory or adjunctive treatment to improve overall skin quality alongside more structural treatments. We discuss combination options at consultation.

Is mesotherapy suitable for all skin types?

Yes. Because mesotherapy works at the level of dermal hydration and cellular metabolism rather than affecting melanin or surface skin layers, it is suitable across all Fitzpatrick skin types without the pigmentation risks associated with some energy-based treatments.
