Sculptra near Markham.
Worth the
ten minutes.
Markham has no shortage of aesthetic clinics. What it has fewer of is clinics that approach Sculptra the way it should be approached — as a structural, long-term investment in your face rather than a volume-adding procedure that happens to last longer than a filler.
Skin Trek is in Richmond Hill, approximately 10 minutes from central Markham depending on where you are coming from. Patients from Markham, Unionville, Cornell, and Milliken Mills make that drive regularly — not because we are the most convenient option, but because they are looking for something specific.
"Most Markham patients who come to us have already tried the nearest option. They are here because the nearest option was not the right one."
What Sculptra actually does
Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) biostimulator. When injected into the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue, it triggers a controlled collagen-building response — your own fibroblasts lay down new collagen around the PLLA particles as they gradually absorb. The result is structural volume that develops over weeks and months, not overnight.
This is the fundamental difference between Sculptra and hyaluronic acid fillers. Fillers add a gel that occupies space and eventually metabolises. Sculptra stimulates your body to produce collagen that becomes part of your own tissue. The result integrates rather than sits — which is why good Sculptra outcomes look like your face at a younger age, not like a face that has been treated.

Why Markham patients come to Skin Trek
The York Region aesthetic market is dense. Within a short drive of Markham there are dozens of clinics offering Sculptra, many with competitive pricing and heavy social media presence. The question worth asking is not which clinic is most visible, but which clinic will give you a result you are still happy with in two years.
At Skin Trek we see a maximum of three patients per day. That is a deliberate choice that affects the quality of every appointment — the injector is not rushing, the assessment is thorough, and the treatment is not templated. We have turned away patients who wanted more than we thought was appropriate. We have recommended fewer vials than patients expected. These choices cost revenue. We consider them non-negotiable.
Dr. Andy has practiced aesthetic medicine for over 16 years across Taiwan and Canada. A significant portion of Markham's population has East Asian heritage — an aesthetic and anatomical context he understands from a decade of practice in Taiwan, not from a training course.

Frequently asked questions
Is the drive from Markham worth it?
That depends on what you are looking for. If you want the nearest available Sculptra provider, the drive is not necessary. If you want a clinic that takes a maximum of three patients per day, led by a physician with 16 years of biostimulation experience and a clinical philosophy built around restraint and long-term results — the ten minutes is worth it. Most of our Markham patients made the same calculation.
How many vials will I need?
This varies by patient. A common starting guideline is approximately one vial per decade of age, but that is a rough reference rather than a formula. Some patients do well with two. Others need four or more. We give you an honest assessment at consultation — not the largest number.
Is Sculptra safe for East Asian skin?
Yes. Sculptra's mechanism is not melanin-dependent and does not carry the post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risks associated with some energy-based treatments. It is widely used across East and Southeast Asian markets. At Skin Trek we have extensive experience with East Asian facial anatomy and aesthetics from over a decade of practice in Taiwan.
Can I combine Sculptra with other treatments?
Yes — and often this is the most effective approach. Sculptra handles diffuse volume and structural collagen. Fillers handle specific shape changes. Ultherapy handles laxity. These are complementary rather than competing. We discuss sequencing and combination approaches at consultation.
